The Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre (SAC)

The Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre (SAC) was established in 1991 by the University of Silpakorn.
The SAC is a database center for anthropology, history, archaeology, art history and related fields. It provides services to academics, researchers and the public. In 2000, the Centre was elevated to the status of a public organization under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture in order to develop and improve the quality of the anthropological database, to support research and to publish anthropological knowledge for the public.
The SAC has an overarching plan to broaden the knowledge of Visual Anthropology which is an academic subfield of Anthropology that uses audio-visual media, such as photographs, films and new media as a tool to disseminate anthropological studies and the studies of the related fields, as well as a tool to make the voices of people from different backgrounds heard.
